Basic Beginnings - The perfect place to start. Focus
is on balance, coordination, and introducing the child to dance. Example steps
to be covered and improved: simple stretching, skipping, hopping, leaping, arm
positions, pointe/flex, isolations, galloping, plie/releve, chassé, and simple
turns.
Basic Beginning Dance
Classes
- Ages 3-5 This class is provided for children who
would like to try dance in general. It focuses on very broad and basic
movements and rhythms.
This is a great place for one to start if they are not
sure what area to follow. We work on balance, coordination, knowing left from
right, listening skills, and social skills.
'Precious Ones' Class
Your
one year old is developing and beginning to use their fine motor skills and
they need to be practiced in new and creative ways. This class promotes
stimulation and engagement. Emphasis is on emotional intelligence and infant
mental health. Emotion intelligence can be described as problem solving,
memory, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship
management. Infant mental health can be described as creating a stronger
relationship between child and parent. Parent and child interaction,
stimulation through sensory experiences, and other activities will help your
child’s mental development.
Activities will be used to incorporate: sign
language, colors, shapes, parts of the body, recognizing textures, music and
rhythm, vocabulary, hand-eye coordination and much more. At the end of each
class, there will be a variety of relaxation/calming techniques introduced and
practiced. This infant class is to be taken with a parent/guardian.
'Cutie
Twos' Class
This
is a simple and fun way to get a head start on preschool education. This class
promotes stimulation and development. Dynamic movements will be used often due
to the fact that your two year old is very active and we want to use that
energy as a positive outlet. Emphasis is on emotional intelligence and infant
mental health. Emotion intelligence can be described as problem solving,
memory, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship
management. Infant mental health can be described as creating a stronger
relationship between child and parent. Parent and child interaction,
stimulation through sensory experiences, and other activities will help your
child’s mental development.
Activities will be used to incorporate: colors,
shapes, numbers, letters, language, music and rhythm. While interacting with
the other children your two year old will improve their social skills as well.
At the end of each class, there will be a variety of relaxation/calming
techniques introduced and practiced. This class is to be taken with a
parent/guardian.
